Long story short
Heater tap broke last year so I bypassed the heater.
It got Bl**dy cold now so I got a new heater tap and installed it
BUT still no heater.
Now have no vacuum at the tap but my understanding is if there is no vacuum the water is channeled to the heater?
So no vacuum heater works
SO have I connected the tap properly
Can someone please maybe take a pic of there heater tap to see if all is OK
Then Ill look into the Vac problem
Just taken a pix - hope it gives you the required info. Good Luck
Nev25 , have you tried flushing water through the heater with the hose ? your heater could be blocked if you let it dry out while it was disconnected.
Just from memory i think the top hose from engine goes to top of heater tap ( front side) , bottom to bottom, and so on.
Here is the pix from on top. As greenacc says, the top hose from engine goes to top connection on heater tap...same on other side - top to top, botom to bottom.
When I installed my new tap I found it easier to remove the bracket from the inner mudguard and attach the tap to it then attach hoses and finally bolt back to inner guard.
Thanks Ill look today
Pretty sure thats the way mine is but heater still dont work
I've seen where the heater has sprung a leak and to stop coolant going thru the heater they have put a short length of 5/8" steel rod in both heater hoses to stop the flow. Pretty dodgy but it usually fools the mechanic when he's issuing a roadworthy certificate. Hope this ain't your problem.
