    Default cutting back the CAI

    im thinking of doing this too mine, is there anything i should know first or just cut away?

    i was just told that it could possible let hot air in from the engine bay so i think ill leave it.

    Coby's Cherry Black 1996 VS HSV Senator (lots of photos)

    Have a look at my photos at the engine bay pics. I shaved back the air intake snorkel a bit. Don't see how it would let hot air in.

    i cut away the top of my ss induction. well on the side closest to the air box. is used to close up under load. so cut most of the top away and it works much better now.

    what is shown in that pic would do sweet **** all.

    i took a stanley knife to mine..... didnt cut right across though, just two big cut outs like the ss inductions have but $300 cheaper..

    i started a thread about this a while back...
    Modifying the vs s/c cai .... yes or no?

    There is a pic of what i did in this link.... go ahead a do it i reckon.
