engine light comes on when idling

hey guys,my engine light comes on when i pull up at lights,not straight away but if im sitting there a while it comes on.it then goes off when i start driving??has anyone out there had this problem,and how do i fix it?cheers

Are you sure its your engine light, my vs did this exact thing and i thought it was a engine light but it was trans light and changed the oil and it hasnt done since.

And guys it says on the fault menu vs v6 1996-1998 but mine is 2000 model does this mean i use the vt fault guide or just use the vs one??

its definately engine light,and its a t5 manual.its really got me stumped.
