Hi all
I hope someone can help , the other morning I went to start my car and all it would do was crank over, so I checked for spark, that’s fine, checked for fuel and that’s fine, checked for injector pulse, no go, so I jumped on the forum and did a search found shits loads of info and a few conflicting ones, so in the mean time I have replaced the coil, ignition module , the relevant relays but still nothing, I was reading that the dizzy and/or the bcm can cause it, has anyone had any success with replacing these? Ive checked for fault codes and all im getting is code 12.
Has anyone got any suggestions one what else it can/could be ?
cheers
If you have no injector pulse your security may not be disabeling, is the red light stopped flashing when you try to start the car.
Also are you sure you have no injector pulse, or have you no fuel pressure.

Yeah, as above check the security and if the relay is clicking (getting power).
yeah ive checked the fuel pressure and thats fine, i havent really payed much attention to the security light, so im guessing if it is still flashing when i try and start the car it means the disable feature isnt being disabled?
is there anyway of resetting it ???
well i checked the security light and it turns off when i turn the ignition on, im gonna replace the dizzy either monday or tuesday just to rule that possibility out
how are you checking for injector pulses.check theres 12 volts at the injectors cause the ecu earths the injectors to fire them
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
with a multimeter, im getting power on both sides
From the circuit diagram the only thing stopping you would be the EFI relay or the ECU. !! Fuse 25 not only powers the injectors but the Ignition Module so if you have spark it's not that either. I don't think the dizzy would stop the injectors from firing, although they use the same fuse??
When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.
ok i pulled them out last night and they are not squirting when i crank it, im getting 12v on both sides still, ill try another ECU today before i change the dizzy, ill let you all know the outcome
If you can get one thats not a good idea. Its either broken or not firing them for some reason.
well thats what im trying to find out what that reason is
ok well i put another ECU in from a known working car and still nothing, so its all still pointing to dizzy and BCM
does anyone know how much a BCM might cost?

Heres a kit from ebay, and it includes everything. Which is handy cause your key wont work with the new bcm. I'd steer clear of doing this unless its a definate diagnosis on it.
Thanks for your help VrWagz1, i was looking at that last night, it might be a good idea to get it if the dizzy replacment dont work at least ill have more bases covered.
well just a follow up on this topic for future ref, i replaced the dizzy and the wagon started up first go, so it was the dizzy all along, the Hall effect sensor was stuffed so the computer didnt know when to fire the injectors.
awsome man
