Carby is gonna be heavy on fuel, its gonna be a dog when its cold. Remember the old choke, you'll have to use that when its cold. You will have to service the carby and rebuild it every now and again. They are less efficient and dont attomise the fuel aswell as injectors.
You can make the old 5ltrs efi as it is the same block as the vn-s models. Swap vn-s heads onto the old block with the fuel rails and computer wiring ect and you can have a efi vk, or basically a vn motor in a vk.

As a stock car they made piss poor power figures too.

Power figures will be about the same, fuel consumption will be better with efi thats assuming identical mods

Yes you can convert carby to EFI

A guy i know had a carby 5L before he went injected 5L and he reckons the carby went harder and sounded better with the sucking from the intake.

the carby cost a lot less in the long run if you chasing power . but 4 daily driver injection is the way to go

    2nd'd.

I had a VK Wagon with a Carby 304, power wasn't that much slower than my VP Wagon with the EFI (although the difference was a 3 speed auto in the VK, 5 speed manual in the VP)

Fuel usage WAS a big difference, i felt like i had to drive servo to servo just to get anywhere.
Remember driving out country to look at a VP SS i was going to buy, i filled up on the way out there, and the way back in (about 400k round trip)

The hardest thing is finding a mechanic who is good with carbies, given that most cars have been injected since the late 80's
