Same transmission but the bell housing is different. I don't think the exhaust would fit.

VS had a 1 piece bell housing with beaming braces. VT had a seperate bellhousing that bolts on with beaming braces. VY has a seperate bell like the VT but no beaming braces due to the VY modified sump design.

Yes the L67 and Ecotec box are the same, the converter is not however.

Also the VS has a different selector shaft to the VT/X/Y boxes.

It can be done but probably cheaper and easier to get a VS eco or l67 wrecker special and throw that in with a flush

help me out guys what is a l67?
i spoke to the wreckers today and he said to just put a vt box in it cause it just bolts straight up and all i should have to do is move the exhaust pipe a fraction. but when i saw the box it looks different to mine at the end where you put the tail shaft? he only wants 275 for that and every one else wants 500 for a vs box

L67 is the supercharged version of the ecotec.

oh ok. so the box from my 95 vs would be the same as a s/c ecotec 95 vs. i was told today that there is i a difference in early vs box to later model vs box and that was that the later model box ran a 13 pin plug and the early one only runs a 12 pin

All vs tranny have 13 pins on it regardless if it is early or late model, 12 pins are vr, also the extension housing speed sensor is on the right side, for vr its other way.

just wanted to post that you can put a vt or vx gearbox in a vs. all that has to be done is to take a section out of the bellhousing where the drivers side exhaust pipe runs past and take off the mounting brackets off the top at rear and box will go in.

does fit. had one in mine for about a year but now converting to manual had to cut a slice out of the bell housing to fit exaust and also had an exaust leak for the 12 months no exaust place could get to work lol
