    Question help

    has anyone removed a air compressor from a vehicle,my compressor has shit itself,i need to know if i disconnect the a/c lines and replace the compressor with another one put all the a/c lines back on will it work the same,or do i have to bleed the system again?

    You have to remove the gas, if there is any left ( this should be done by a qualified A/C specialist because it is illegal to let the gas out into the atmosphere). When you install your new compressor you will need to have it re-gassed. If you decide to ignore the legalities, just remember that the gas can be dangerous if you just undo the lines with the gas still in the system, you could burn yourself severely.

    A/C gas is very dangerous stuff. its not as simple as bolting on a new compressor and topping up the a/c gas. the compressor itself isnt a bad job you will just need to take it to an a/c gas place to have the machine plugged in to flush it and re gas it. the a/c wont engage and shit the compressor as there is a pressure switch in the system to prevent that from happening.
