Default Estimated VS Senator dyno power figures.....??

As title says. Minus the fact it could be a happy dyno. Senator has:

Factory CAI + K&N Panel filter

The factory HSV headers into a single cat 3" exhaust / hot dog / rear resi

Foam tune (nothing fancy from what i know, runs nice and smooth but noticible power difference when i put it in over the stock 185 HSV tune)

Serviced 1000km's ago, religiously serviced by previous owner and myself

Will have a brand new O2 sensor before it hits the dyno saturday

    Run on BP 95 PULP

158XXX genuine KM's on the clock

Any rough idea on figures i can expect?

Nah that's what i pretty much estimated. I'd be really happy with anything OVER 145rwkw. See how we go! At least i'll have a dyno print out finally.

Get a air fuel printout on it~!!!!!!!!! chances are it runs rich so we can extract some more poWA if that's the case

pS. 142-152 rwkw take your pick, bit hard to go over 150 in a auto without a fancy exhaust

Mine ran like a bucket of shit when i drove to sydney, and had a choice between running out of fuel in the middle of nowhere or using 95. First and only time i've used anything other than ultimate

Will do man! I wish someone walked up and dumped $10k in my lap just for being such a great bloke LOL then i'd whack a street sensible cam in it and a T5. But, if i spent the money for our house, the missus would do something evil to the Senator. Then i'd do something evil to her Pulsar lol.

Well see i USED to run it on BP Ultimate up until about 3 months ago. Switched down to 95, runs the same and i get only a FRACTION less km's out of a tank than i did on 95.

I might buy some of that magical NOS octane booster saturday morning and throw that in the tank, i'll easily crack 200rwkw

My VR made 194rwhp or about 144rwkw with just an exhaust upgrade, im sure its just factory headers, stock everything else and the apparent 185 motor with 148xxxxkm, so ive got an average 185 or a hell potent 165

Also ive notice no difference between 91 and 95 octane really except i get a tad more KMs out of 95, been thinking about tryin 98 but with no power gain theres no point, unless someone can prove that higher octane will provide more power to these cars?

The 185i motor is just a normal 304 with a 185kw HSV factory tune.

98 isn't ment to give you a 10-0hp increase, its to give you more k's from a tank. To which it does.

Can you get your car tuned to actually plunder more power from 98?
example ive heard about a VZ thunder ute which off a 91 octane tune could only pull about 220ish rwkw with a tune, but with 98 octane was able to get 240rwkw because of the twin knock sensors or something it just runs poorly on 91 fuel, so if you got your holden 5L tune to run on just 98 you could get some actual power gains, because higher price for just a lil more KMs doesnt really add up, apart from the fact it 'cleans' your engine

LMAO, getting more k's from the tank doesn't justify the extra cost? It sure does with both my cars. That means i pay LESS per k i travel......

Yeah when 91 is $1.25 and 98 is $1.45 and you buy it ONLY for more KMs it doesnt work out to much extra in fact the quote is something like "44kms extra from ongoing use" Which is about 1 day of travelling to work/back
I use 95 and honestly get a bit more to the same amount I spend but its not much, I only wanted to try it to see if the car performed any better.

    Any saving is a saving?

Like i mentioned previously, my car ran shit on 95, i wouldn't dare put 91 in it. Only once have i had a bad tank of ultimate, and that was years ago.

I think it really comes down to the dyno man. When my senator was stock, it was maken 138rwkw on a fairly low reading dyno (mainline) and thats with a 215i. Then I got the exhaust done, and went on other dyno and it was making 175rwkw (dyno dynamics). Ive put my car on the dyno so many times and havent got the number i was expecting. So if you do pull a lower number, dont be disappointed, its probably just a low reading dyno. Let us know how you go anyway
