Exclamation What Options do i have with the ECU??

im doing a 5 speed conversion.

i have all the stuff out of a VP.

and im fitting it into a Series 2 VR.

so i know i can either get a VR manual Loom and ECU.
use the VP ECU and loom (and get the memcal tuned for VR??? is this right?..)

or use my current ECU and get it tuned to be a manual and keep the same wiring harness...

but do i have to get it tuned?...wats gonna happen if i dont?
    thanks guys

Keep your current ECU mate, but I think you should check with delcowizzid or greenfoam first. drop them a PM.

Maybe also check this thread: VR Manual Conversion - How to Get you speedo working again using the auto harness

you will allways have issues keeping the auto loom the ecu doesnt see speed and causes a bit of stalling and extra fuel consumption.the VP harness is pretty much identical to a VR manual harness ecu is wired the same etc most likely just a simple plug in and a wire change for the speedo shouldnt be to much of a mission.memcal to suit is easy done as well.

VP loom, VP ecu and a VR manual tune converted to run on the VN/P ecu, that's the how you are going to do it if you want to win
