hold all 3 down, then turn the car on......people say hold the 2 outside buttons...but on my VR i have to hold all 3 buttons down then start the car....
The up and down buttons are meant to be temporary usage as it will revert back to the speed alert if you turn the car off.
Pressing all 3 will keep it as a speed display untill you press all 3 buttons
Wat about a different computer, like a more advance one

im pretty sure i just hold the up arrow or up and down arrow on my berlina
i tried mine, i have an acclaim with factory speed alert, i tried all 3 buttons and it did not work, i tried the outside arrows and it worked. try holding the buttons in until the motor is running? besides that i cant really help ya, sorry
from the off position push and hold all 3 buttons turn the key to ignition while still holding the buttons dont turn the key to start, keep holding the buttons until the number 100 shows up on the screen then let go of the buttons and then press the set button, then its done permanent until you disconnect the battery
yeah as stated above.....if you hold just the arrows, i thinhk it's only temporary...i'll try the permanent way tomoz...
well i will try it tomorrow, but sure it wont do anything

Alrighty well guys i just went out and fiddled around with my Speed Alert Thingy and i still have no clue what im doing but what does it mean when you press i think both arrows and turn the ignition on and the LED Light starts flashing? Is that normal and what does it mean because i have no clue?
On a random note also when does the fuel light usually come on in a VR/VS as mine only comes on i believe when the tank gauge is flat on the bottom? Is that normal?
Thanks
Matt.
It flashes when it's in "speedo" mode. Really annoying, actually.
EDIT: Oh, and my fuel alert (VR V6) goes with about 50km left in the tank.
The speed alert in my vs early series 2, you hold down the two outside buttons while the ignition is off, crank until the engine is running and release the buttons... the red led will be flashing, and you will have a digital readout of your speed. Mate of mine pulled his apart and bridged those two button contacts, and put a resistor in place of the LED... Permanent digital speedo!
Holding down the set button while starting the car has different results. According to the VS II car manual... The speed alert has 4 preset speed settings. 110, 100, 80 and 60. If you press set and up at the same time, or set and down at the same time, it goes to the nearest preset in that direction. If you hold SET, start the car, and release set, You get the ability to change those presets. The number will be flashing. Change it to what you want, press set, repeat for each preset...
Ah, the things you an learn from reading the instructions.
I was just fiddling around with it again and i must of pressed something it didn't like and it beeped at me and the LED light became solid. It almost seems that i can get speedo temporarily but not permanent. Mind you im not actually driving it around yet so cant check for sure whats really happening.
i wish it was more easy, holden make it so hard

do you really need your little electronic speedo gadgets that badly?

Although temporary digital speedo readout works on all cars, permanent speedo will only work on some, not others... i cant get mine permanent![]()
