4L60E from a 3.8L....will it go into a VR SS???? does anyone know?..

Topic....i am selling my auto box, and i know sum1 with a VR SS that is on the hunt for a good box, Will he beable to use this one in it?....arent they the same?....

Mine is a 4L60E from My 3.8L.........going into a SS 5.0L

short answer no.

the v6 boxes have a different bolt pattern to the v8s. the v8s are like a chev bolt pattern and the v6 is a buick or something like that

ok, so cant just change the bell housing?...or are we talking about flywheel pattern?

its a bellhousing adaptor you'll need first off to get it to bolt up to the engine for starters, then i dont know if u need anything else to fix up the gap.

anything can be done for a cost, but for the cost of secondhand autos its cheaper and easier to get the right box to start with. sorry mate, i know u wanna get rid of the auto

I'm fair sure the input splines are different also, as well as the ratios.
