    Exclamation Climate control lights blown

Has anyone changed the lights behind the climate control unit on a '99 VS Statesman (ALWAYS HAD ONE BLOWN SINCE I GOT HER 4 YEARS AGO, THEN LAST MONTH THE OTHER ONE BLEW NOW I CAN'T SEE IT AT NIGHT TIME), my mate told me that it's not a globe and it's some sort of inbuilt led?
Just want to know before i pull it apart.
    Thanks for any help.

There are two globes that sit at the top of the screen, but they are soldered onto the unit. They are each about a centimetere long and about 3mm thick. You won't really have to pull the unit apart to see them. You could probably find a similar globe and attatch that.

The ones in the keypad are screw in ones like in the dash.

Tube type for the top (can be replaced with LED's) be gentle with the LCD screen as they can develope bleeds very easy.

T5 neo wedge for the buttons.

You need to remove the shifter surround, then you need to take the radio surround off. After that you just unscrew the screws that you see.

The globes/tubes are clear as standard.

I removed the green diffuser and put blue LED's in (but I killed to lcd screens in working out how to do it.)

So if you put clear LED's in and face them at the clear plastic they should light up green still.

Thanks also, I wanted to do a globe replacement. You providing me with a decent part number makes it sooo much easier.

    88GreenVN are they 12v led's?
Would you be able to fit a 3v 3mm or 5mm with a resistor in there you reckon?

Don't want to sound like a bit a of girl but has anyone paid an auto elec or Holden to do it and what did they charge?
I'm not to good with LED screens and soldering irons, i thought they would just be plug ins.

I have no idea to be honest - I just by in bulk from Ebay bloke (my brother said they would work as he is the electronic whiz for the family)

He did say that they have a risistor in them - tiny bugger too - and way too hard to solder together. So I just buy the completed T4 & T5 neo wedge units.
