hey guys
i own a 1996 VS series 1 Equipe and was wondering what this plug in the boot is?
it has 12 volts even when the ignition is off. Both the white/green cable and the black have current all the time
what is it for?
thanks but it doesnt appear to be as it is the original wiring loom
help please
can u take a pic from further back so we can see where its coming from?
nah sorry cant mate coz my phone is ******
but the loom goes to the tail lights and i followed it to underneath the dash but then lost it
That wiring in the boot drivers side is to connect another wiring harness which you buy from a holden spare parts dealer $40+ The flat wiring harness connects to a trailer (box, Boat etc. It saves you cutting into your tail light wiring and adding joiners etc to connect your own wiring . Buying the holden harness is more netter and easier.

It comes with easy instructions to connect 15 seconds

just throwin this out there but could be a harness for the cd stacker which comes factory in some of the higher model cars, not 100% sure though. just looked in my car and it has the plug aswell
If it was for a trailer it would have way more wires. My guess is it's for the electric boot release actuator.
Spoiler maybe or do you have one?
my equipe has it too, im guessing its for a spoiler? but why would they put in there though if no equipes had spoilers.....
mine has it when i forst saw it when i bought the car i didnt take much notice and acctually thought it was from a previous sub or amp or whatever...lol but i have no idea and i thought some equipts did have spoilers?
EQUIPE DUDE NOT EQUIPT lol..
never seen any with spoilers
im goin with mark, its for a trailer plug extension
my question is: where abouts in the boot is it?
if its on the inside of the bootlid, just behind the numberplate it'll be for the boot release.
if its in the boot, where left or right side?
its on the right side, behind the carpet
aii wiring looms are made with the maximum number of plugs/wiring that are needed regardless of the model.Plugs that arent needed are left vacant. Its a lot easier to make all looms the same than chop and change on the production line.if it has continuos power to it it will prob be for boot release that normally operates from glove box
my brother has a VS senator with the cd stacker in the boot. i will run out and check if that plug is used for the cd stacker
Probably for the light in the boot???? It can't be the boot release... think about it... if it's got constant 12volts and earth, the boot release would activate all the time.
The boot release colour codes are 'black/red' for the positive side (switched... not live). 'Black' to earth.
The 'orange/black' code seems to be consistent with the 'Interior lighting' diagrams. Same with the 'white/green'.
'Orange/black' should go to fuse no. 4, remove fuse no. 4 and check for volts between orange/black and earth - If no volts, then it's to do with interior lighting.
'White/green' should go back to the BCM.
Hello!!!!
It is definitely for the hook up for a connection for extra harness wiring to connect to a trailer etc which i have mentioned before and i have purchased the harness from genuine holden dealer. All model comms have them very convenient don't you think! As OOvxsc stated Its for trailer plug extention under the carpet rear right boot behind quarter panel near tail light.

orange and black is mainly associated with interior lighting
