hey guys, firstly thanks for your time in reading this.
i have a few problems and was wondering if anyone could help.
1. i currently run my car on duel fuel, but whenever i switch to petrol, and put the foot down, at around 80 kmph the engine light (orange light) comes on, also noticing it doesnt feel like its performaing as well as it does on gas, which is strange. anny suggestions?
2. i was wandering if anyone had some ideas to increase power of the car, some small cheap ideas, and some more expensive ideas, please keep in mind that i would like to keep it red 'p' legal.
3. i currently have a v8 throttle kit on my v6 commodore, i was told to do this to increase power, but was later told that i would have to change "the neck" or something to make it work efficiently. can anyone clarify, if i should keep it on, and what i would need to do to make the v8 throttle efficient in my engine.
once again i would like to thank you for your time in helping me, im sure you have better things to do, but i really do appreciate it. thanks guys.
V8 Throttle isnt really going to do much to increase power, as the V6 supplies pretty much enough air for the V6 engine, just make sure that you have a clean air filter (or you could get a more expensive performance filter from K&N, although some people will argue just how much better they are) and it should be fine.
Best initial upgrades to do on a car are extractors and exhaust, maybe check spark plugs are clean and firing properly and maybe get some aftermarket ignition leads like top gun. maybe get onto yella terra and get some roller rockers with higher ratio's.
I never use anything except premium fuel in my commy either.
All upgrades you do to it though aren't going to double power outputs or anything like that, but when they add up will make quite a difference.
If you're really serious, then go forced induction and super or turbo it. For low boost, stock internals are ok up to about 8 or 9 PSI, any higher and you need to start spending the big bucks to get things like custom forged pistons and the like.
All of this stuff is pretty much useless though if you're bound by that stupid red P plate law. Move to WA, It doesnt exist. LOL.
