Hey guys, On the weekend I took the rims off the car and gave them a good clean and polish. I noticed that both the front wheel hubs were quite difficult to turn by hand. They were replaced 200,000K's ago. My question is should they be free and easy to spin by hand, or is it normal that they feel quite stiff and tough to turn?
Cheers.
take the brake caliper off and then recheck em.
They say in the gregories that they should be replaced every 200 000ks.
But if they ain't makin no noise. . . . then if ti aint broke dont fix it.
I shagged mine on the VS when i changed the rotors. . .![]()
They wanted almost 400 each for replacements. . . So i bought a new car!!![]()
Stoke my ego, click the scales!!!
Stoke it!!!!
LOVE IT!!!!!
If both hub bearing have about the same degree of stiffness then I'd say they were still OK as it would be pretty rare for them both to seize at the same time. The workshop manual says they are buggered if they have more than a certain amount of side play or feel rough when turned. Mine are pretty stiff to turn.
