Question VS Ute O2 Sensor problems

Hi, hoping that someone can help me this with. I was driving my Manual VS V6 this morning, going around a corner in 5th Gear (which was the problem, wrong gear for the speed i was going, which was maybe around 40 km or less, more like 3rd gear would of been better) and the car nearly stalled, but didnt, made a loud noise (sort of a THUD, coming from underneath the ute im pretty sure, but could(im 90% sure that it wasnt though been something in the tub that was sliding round) during going around the corner which seams really strange and the engine warning light came on, and now comes on when i first start the ute. So i check the error codes and got 13 - RH Oxygen Sensor (O2) and 63 LH Oxygen Sensor (O2) - No Signal

Was wondering why this would of occured and what the problem might be, what i should do? What will happen if i do nothing (ie. will it cause bigger problems)? How much would it cost to buy new sensors?
Should i reset the computer and then see if i get any error codes?

Thanks in advance and i hope that you can give me any advice and what to do. THANKS Warren

If your o2 sensors werent working then it may have been a backfire.

Anyway some VS's have lots of problems with o2 sensor reliability due to earthing problems and wiring issues. My VS is one! numerous changes of sensors and still many error codes! I bit the bullet and borrowed some Holden Service manuals (ecu pinouts and wiring I.D) from my tuner, then i constructed new looms from scratch for the o2 sensors. This is from the ecu to each sensor. Good wiring and strong earthing, now i have no problems.

Given its both o2 sensors i would check the earth points a s said above, they are known for their issues. There is a how-to i beleive.

If you dont replace them, you'll probably burn twice as much fuel as you should be.

It's really only the RH sensor that has the earth issue, seeing as both sensors are at fault chances are the back fire has stuffed them.

Another thing, but is unlikely, is that the back fire blew the cat apart and you have cat fragments in the O2 sensors blocking them.

Oh lucky I seen this as Im replacing both mine tomorow, will follow the work guide aswell.

For a side note, mine logged a fault code at cruising in 5th gear (110km/h) each time. Only flashed when in 5th after cruising everytime.

Holden wanted $88.50 each, but claim there is only one in a VS, and refused to order me two because they recon I would only want one when I seen there was only one, no telling them theres two, so walked out, got 2 genuine Delphi ones off Ebay for 58each.

Genuine Delphi? The genuine ones are Delco dude.....

And $88 from Holden? I got a single one (VS 5 litre) for $70 from Holden spare parts.

Yeah I wasnt sure if Delco or Delphi made them, but I bought Genuine Delphi (according the ebay add). Delphi made the fuel pumps for VN's etc, so there still an OEM brand. The holden guy just wanted to make my day difficult I swear lol, I would have paid $88.50 each IF he would have ordered me two, but he was two arrogant to do so, and I didnt want to wait until next week for the usual guy to be back. Is the V8 one the same, and is it 4wire?

yea mate, you can do the fix then replace the o2s when u get em. i did this as a test to get more results. my o2s were screwed also, did the fix, drove round for a week (or 2) then replaced em and all good instant results

Re-earth my ECU/o2 sensor this morning. Wokr guide is tops the only thing I did differently was take the glovebox out first, then the panel between it and the firewall lol.

A damn fiddly job, but pretty easy. Mines earthed just under the ECU on the chassis there was a hole already there, to easy.
