Thinking this may be my heater tap stuck on, caused by that vacuum switch. Wondering if anyone can confirm this as I need it fixed.
If i turn it to cold and hit the AC switch, it will blow cold air conditioned air, but the centre console at leg height remains hot near where the heating pipe sits. The heating pipe is always hot, and if I give the engine a squirt it gets REALLY hot. Any air conditioning experts out there? otherwise im just going to have to take it to NATBAD.
Sounds like the heater tap is staying open, change it for a new one also flush and change your coolant at the same time
The heater taps do play up a bit it seems, they are only made of plastic. The other end of the spectrum is when they crack up due to age and piss coolant out everywhere (leading to mass coolant loss, overheating etc)
When I did my engine change, I was replacing it anyway for convenience sake (easier with the motor out, save doing it later when it blows) and it pretty much crumbled under our hands when it was touched.
