Coolant coming out through engine
Hi, Ive developed a prob with my VR,(5L) first of all its been losing coolant at a fast rate but I cannot see if its leaking from a certain spot or just evaporating. Yesterday after drive home there was a bit of smoke coming from under the bonnet and there was a bit of coolant around the engine and ive noticed a tiny hole that looks like its coming from that as there is an identical small hole on the other side of the engine but its covered by a small rubber part, the temperature was only 1/2 when I got home.
Has anyone here dealt with this problem and what I will need to do to fix it? I had a look on the forum and it seems some people had problems with their inlet manifold gasket and thought maybe that could be the problem, if anyone can tell me any information about that, it would be awesome cheers

radiator side tanks? I know its not engine but they do spray a long way.

Seems like a drain hole yet its supposed to be covered so coolant cant escape, it looks like its just worn away because the other side is fine, if its the manifold gasket is it fairly cheap to replace?

A photo would be much better for anyone to say for sure. Or get a photo of someones 5.0L engine and mark it where the hole is..

But the leak is coming from the rocker cover part inbetween the Holden logo and the first nut on the manifold, or exactly left of the oil cap in that photo, on the engine except its on the left side of the motor not the right

Thats the location of the heater tap and is a prime suspect in my mind. $30 from auto parts store if it's that.

Tale the covers off and have a squizz at the heater tap first.

..definitely heater tap if its driver side front
(the only other thing there is the rad hose and thermostat...maybe check them too)
