VS S Pack ute - Front Bar/Bonnet/Guards need identification

Hi Guys

I have recently bought a 1999 VS S Pack ute with a few mods!

I have bought her as a project and not sure what year/model the floowing are

1. Front Bar
2. Bonnet
3. Front guards - not 100% sure but think VX/VZ

Also are Fibreglass bonnets and guards legal in QLD

She came with the original VS guards which I will most likely put back on her, but not sure if the guards will work with the bonnet and bar space wise...

any help would be much appreciated

front bar = i believe is vs or vt supercar front bar
bonnet = monaro vents moulded to a vs bonnet
front gaurds = standard vs gaurds with the vz flutes moulded in (minus the flutes)

i dont believe fibreglass guards n bonnets are legal, but not 100% sure.

drop on ur standard gaurds, they will match up and will like the same minus the flutes. drop the standard bonnet on if the one with the vents is fibreglass. it will look as good as it can with that front bar (not to my tastes, but thats personal). there is a car in the my ride section with that front bar, so u can see what it'll look like with the bar alone.

I think the front bar is the VS Supercar one, bonnet is from a Monaro and guards from a VZ SS. But I am not really sure on all that so I could be wrong.

Front bar is off a VT Supercar (V8 Supercar bodykit) moulded for VS

Bonnet is Monaro style grill moulded for VS

Thanks guys - unreal help

Last night I tried to put the original VS guards on my VS ute- when I say original, they are factory metal but not the originals from the S pack-but I am having a difficult time matching up the door end.The top of the guard matches fine, but I cant seem to line up the guard at the bottom- I have to twist the guard to pukll it down to get her semi in place- and it would to me be under constant stress. When I took off the fibreglass guards the gaps were fine.


- I have changed many front guards on many cars but this has got me stumped!

Do I need to secure the door end first and lift up over the support and then screw in down the top of the guard.

- I feel like an idiot asking this!- Is there any chance a 1999 VS ute has a slightly different front guard??

In a word, no. All front guards from vr-vs sedans, utes and wagons are the same

there is a nack to getting them to sit properly, but i cant remember off the top of my head.

That isn't a VR/S Guard. Its a custom job (similar to the dude who had that blue ute with VZ gear on it)

Thanks Stealthy...We know its not a VS guard. They are VZ guards...I was referring to what I did last night( changed to the original VS guards (no pic) but thanks anyway) ...and thats the reason Im changing to factory guards because of the poor job
