Hey guys
i put a post on here yesterday about how my car wouldnt start after replacing the starter motor!!!
Well it turns out that all is good but they are saying that they key could be on the way out and to replace the key and the whole head of it its like 400-500 BUCKS!!!
has anyone herd of this???
it must be cheaper then that????
no way i think for the keyhead from Holden i think they are about $80 - $100. Best to check with them.
them saying that the 'key could be one the way out' is not definitive enough. if this is the case it will have logged an error code. check them with a paper clip, the how-to is a sticky in the how-to section. other thing to check is the metal ring around the ignition barrel makes perfect contact with the metal tab on the keyhead. if not gently bend the metal strip out a little bit so it will contact better.
u can get a keyhead off ebay for say $50 take it to holden and they will program it to ur car for round .5 hour charge, bout $50-100 pending on who u get.
Check out the Mr Minut places in your local shopping centre. You should be able to get a new key and key head for $60 or so that will work with your car.
