Question O2 Sensor Problem - Pacemakers

    Hey guys,

Last weekend I put a set of pacemakers on my VS Calais. Now all is good and well however tonight i noticed my car was blowing tons of white smoke

So anyway I held down the mode and set buttons and started it up. Now I am not sure what it means but on the "FUEL 1" screen it was reading about 2 while on the "FUEL 2" screen it was reading close to 6.

Is this the a problem with the O2 sensors? The sensor on the left hand side wouldn't reach the plug once in the pacemakers so I cut the wires and soldered some more in so it would reach. Was I wrong in doing this and could this be causing the problem? If so how do I go about fixing the issue?

    Cheers.

as long as you used thick enough wire and got the right connections to each one it should be fine nice shiney solder joins i presume taped up well you should be laughing.fuel smoke is normally black white is normally oil

Fuel 1: Fuel consumption in L/hour: I think 2 L/hour is reasonable at idle
Fuel 2: Fuel tank sender: 6 V means just over half full

Blowing white smoke isnt good, if it was running rich it would be black, but white? burning oil or blown gasket.

New headers will burn residual oil from the tail pipe and also burn off the greasy finger prints on the headers themselves.

    Thumbs up Paranoid..

Thanks alot for all the replies and help guys. Just went out and started it up again to see how things are going and no more smoke... So who knows I guess I am just paranoid but REV is probably right, I did drive for a fair bit last night so it was probably just burning off residual oil and what not. However I will keep an eye on it none the less just in case. Again thanks alot guys.
