quick question.
a mate of mine is wrecking a vs ss 5.0litre and it has pacemaker extractors on it. will theese fit my 5.0litre vr caprice? cheers
looking on the website ill need the PH 5000V
and the ss ones will be PH 5000D.
afaik its the variable ratio steering. is it really that limiting or can i get away with putting normal ones on? anyone with some knowledge please let me know.
no they wont fit on
5000V will fit on a normal commodore (i have these on mine) or a stato/calais with the variable speed rack
5000D will only fit on a normal commodore
if you were in vic i would probably trade the drivers side header with you

Its really tight down the drivers side there. I have not seen the variable rack but the extractors are most definatly a bit of a tight custom bend to get through that area between the rack, bellhousing and floor pan there. I would imagine there is 2 different part numbers for a reason as i would imagine the rack is bigger and a different shape to bend around. Im not sure though how hard it would be modify them if you know a mate whose a fabricator or somthing. The passenger side will fit though.
yeah the drivers side do have a few odd bends in them. i wouldnt bother attempting to fit normal commodore ones in. theyre annoying enough to install, and it would just be wasted time with the wrong header

5000D are the dual cat set up. They don't come with a Y pipe.
Yes, the V's are backwards compatible, but you can't go the other way.
ahh cheers for that guys.
abba fan when i get my tax back i think ill be coming to you for the pacemakers.
