Default Vs Engine Light one and stalls whilst driving..

my vs has developed a problem where you will be driving along (all times have been on cold mornings or nights not long after starting) and the engine light will come on or start flashing and the car will stall. no miss fires or running out of fuel symtoms just shuts off.

could this be the crank angle sensor or coil packs on there way out? the car has near 300k kms on it..

any input would be a help!

    thanks guys !

my engine light sometimes comes on and then off, im also over 300ks, and at the most random times, VS had been known to have crank angle sensor probs and oxygen sensor problems, get your computer checked out to see which sensor is S*#ting itself, and be able to fix problem easy then

just wondering if any one knows how to test your coil packs? some on on JC suggested to remove both leads from on coil pack and start the motor, its sapose to spark between each plug connection, if it spacks all over the place then they might be stuffed. is there resitances or something you can you to check?

ok i checked the fault codes and they came up good, although ill check them again if it stalls on me again. also checked all plugs etc the seem really good, the coil packs appear to be ok as im thinking that if they where a problem then it would start running ruffer instead of cutting out completely which is what is happening. so im leading towards a Crank angle sensor. what do you think?

Could be a blocked fuel filter - utes have problems stalling when rounding corners on 1/2 tank or less when fuel pump has been changed.

yes thought about that but it wouldnt explain the sudden cut out of the motor, and the fuel pump dosnt keep pumping like its sucking dry. all recent times its cut out has been on near full tanks thanks
