    Default Side skirts

Hi I was wondering if anyone knows how these are attached. I bought this car for my son and we are putting it back to stock while he is on his P's. We don't want to break them as I am sure he will want to put the spoiler kit back on later.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They will have screws at either end, and have sikaflex the length of the skirt. Not sure how you'll go getting fibreglass ones off, i know the stock holden skirts you can bend to almost 90 degrees without breaking them, Fibreglass i'm not sure you'll be able to.

I have never encountered sikaflex on skirts myself yet. They just sit on the rail under the doors and under the car they will either have tabs that clip under there or screws that hold it plus a screw or 2 possibly on the ends in the wheel arch. Simply pull the screws out and they should start falling off

This is the inside of my old ones looking along inside from the front to the back

if they were fitted properly, they will have a thick bead of sika running along the length of them, as well as a couple screws either end

will be a tough job getting them off if they're glued and fibreglass (using heat will help).... and even tougher cleaning all the remaining glue off

True, but a car that looks modified is all it takes for cop attention sometimes... I once got pulled over by an undercover cop for taking off from the lights too quick (I didn't spin the wheels and i did nothing illegal, just ran 1st gear right through the range) and he told me if i had rims and a lowering job, ergo if the car looked modified, he would've done me for dangerous driving.

Wow, and people would have us believe they don't just target modified cars. Not sure how much truth there is to your story, but if it is accurate, its just another story of theres 2 sets of laws, one for modded car owners, and one for the rest.

The moods of the coppers around my area are about as reliable as falcons are, i think he was just in a bad one. Because, on the flip side, I've been a passenger in a mates worked VL calais sitting on about 160 and been pulled over, and all he got was a warning. And probably a freshly stained drivers seat, but that's not relevant at the moment.

Going by the photos posted appears to have a screw at each end, i would remove the screws and the scuff panel and look for clipc or hidden screws, and try pulling it off. But as others have said its got a good chance at being glued on, only advice is try getting fishing line between the skirt and the body.

As others have said it depends on the cop, when i was on my P's i had a HG brougham that had a 350 chev with a 6/71 sticking thru the bonnet, mini tubbed, caged, every thing was gingerbeered still had hassles with some cops, others just pulled me over to look at it.
