vr v6 with vn motor

hey all i just bought a vr with a blown up engine i have a vn engine. am i able to put a vn engine in the car to pass a blue slip or does it have to be a vr with a vr engine.

i believe the vn engine the thermostat is at the back of the manifold.

not 100% sure on the vn engine passing a blue slip in a VR

I don't think you can legally swap an older engine into your car. As far as I know it has to be the same model or newer

Is the vn engine series 1 or 2? the vr also had a cam angle sensor if i remember right but that shouldn't be to much effort to put in(could be wrong).

All plugs etc "should" be fine.

You can do it but it depends on the emission standard of each motor, it can be a big headache with all the hoops you have to jump thru much easier sticking in a newer engine
