My VR Idles Fine Untill Throttle Applied...?

Hey there members - what a goldmine! - ive been reading through the site for hours now and have picked up a whole heap of tips/advice/knowledge. Here's my problem. My VR idles just fine but when i step on the gas the engine misfires real bad, if i lightly press the gas pedal its fine but any more than a light press she misfires and runs rough...any help would be greatly appreciated...cheers

change ur spark plugs. i had the same problem, idles normally, light press will be ok but if u want to give it a bit it will cough and splutter a tad. changed spark plugs and ran some injector cleaner, runs much smoother now. see how u go

if not the plugs, could be your leads. If not, could be the coil pack

yeah mine was doing the same. Wouldnt want to go higher than 2000revs. Luckily it turned out to be the leads

if its the coil pack, you generally have firing problems on startup. how many cranks does it take to start the car on average?

yeah i meant if worst comes to worst it could be a crummy coil pack, but usually it isnt

well i've replaced the plugs, checked leads and they are fine...still same problem tho - it starts first crank and idles just lovely - im reluctant to take it to the shop cause i reckon i can fix it, just lack the diagnostic skills hehe...any other things i should check out? cheers
