    Default Heater Ducts broken!?!?!

The air ducts in my VR commodore have just stopped changing..
I can't get the air off my feet and change it to my face. I've tried pulling out the console and re-plugging it all but it doesn't seem to fix it..
I can adjust the heat, just not where the heat comes from..
    Help?!?!
    Thanks in advance.

Having an exec you would just have the regular dials (not climate control) so the first thing will be to check the vacuum canister which is a black plastic ball behind the front bumper on the passenger side. Make sure all vacuum lines are still connected and follow them back to the fire wall and check all vacuum lines. 99 times out of 100 it just a lose vacuum line.

The OP has an exec, therefore non climate control. The non climate control air con doesn't have the vacuum solenoid you're referring too. Just good old fashioned vacuum hoses.

A black plastic ball, round canister, whatever you want to call it, behind the front bumper on the passenger side. It's about half the size of a soccer ball. That's what holds the vacuum pressure needed to direct air flow.

Sorry but simple spelling mistakes make things difficult to read. The vents for a climate control equipped car are controlled electronically. That's where the solenoid you're referring to comes into play. In regular air con like in the executive models, the vents are controlled by turning the dial. Have a look at the back of a manual air con control box and you'll see colour coded hoses for each vent. Turning the dial opens and closes the vacuum hoses and therefore no solenoid is required.

That's why I don't get why people keep asking how to do a climate control conversion. Whats the point. The manual ones have nothing electronic that could fail.

also check the vaccum hoses, trace them all from the vaccum ball, to the motor, thru the fire wall & intothe back of the control, make sure they are all pushed on correctly.

I pulled my hair out for ages chasing the same problem in my Calais, had the entire console & dash out, the issue was the hose had come off in the engine bay.
