I'll post this here as im after businesses which are specific to Adelaide...
A while ago i bought some VZ Maloo 19 inch wheels (pretty sure they are copies), they were 2 weeks old. They are for my VS.
Have done pretty much stuff all kms in them as they are on my 'toy' car. Anyway, last time i took them off i noticed that the bore of the wheels weren't sitting firm on the hubs. What i mean is the bore of the wheels are slightly larger than the hubs. now am i able to buy some hub rings to ensure they locate properly? i dont want to use them til i sort it out.
Where/ who in adelaide sells them?
Worst case, i may just need to machine up some rings myself.
thanks
You can buy them but your gonna have to take your Rim with you buy a set, take it home n make sure it fits on the car as well, its hard to say because there an aftermarket wheel,
They should be ok with movement in them while not on the ground when you do them up go opposite side to side when doing the nuts up and locate them correctly n move the wheel around while doing it to make sure it goes on properly and locates fine.......
It wont course any damage as is, a lot of aftermarket wheels don't locate 100% its no biggy, but its understandable if you wanna get a locating ring. They are normally just plastic anyways, the metal ones are just a head fark.....
If you really want some cause you don't feel comfy with it as it is, Id try Sprint maybe..... or Repco if not them Probs bob jane or city discounts as they keep a lot of wheels in stock and might have them laying around out of an old set of wheels....
Speed never killed anyone. Suddenly becoming stationary, now that's what gets you...
There called locating rings, so when you go in there they no what ya on about lol

measure the hole diameter on the wheel, then measure the hub diameter. then try a few tyre/wheel shops. they should be able to get them no problem.
i got mine from ebay for my wheels. just searched the sizes and "spacer" or "ring" from memory
this is not right. little knowledge can be dangerous, the idea of a centering is that without them, the load is taken up by the studs and not the hub section of the wheel which is the strongest, the up and down motion on a wheel in normal driving can sheer the studs of. IE without the wheels center bore fitting snug on the hub, the sheer factor is increased by a massive amount.
You can tighten the opposite stud to locate close enough but why risk anything happening for a $10 part and the load is still not right
get a vernier and check them properly. so that you know, the standard hub on any commodore until VE is 69.5. so you need 69.6 centering rings with whatever the center bore is on those wheels for the outside diameter. VE just so you know is 66.9
thank you for the advice all
