hey,
my vs has been inactive for a while as i had to wait to get a new key cut and programmed, i got the key today and when i first put it in and turned it over and the car started before stalling after about 2 seconds, i figured this was because it was empty on fuel so i filled it back up.. But it now wont restart,
i took the fuel filter out and its clear, checked the fuel at the firewall and there's plenty of pressure, it has been running only a couple of times since i installed new injectors so im PRESUMING it isn't them, i lifted the fuel rail up, which took the injectors out of the cylinder but still in the fuel rail and the rear injector on the right, fuel came out of, like it had been building up on that injector (blocked?) or is this just the last injector that fuel goes to before any excess is put back into the tank?
it has spark, air and has no computer faults..
it sound's like it is trying to start but just cant do it...
what else could the problem be?
is a 3.8Lt VS btw

The way I'd go about this problem is first I'd find the wire that supplies power to the fuel pump - then I'd hotwire it. Next I'd charge the battery up so that I knew it was 100%. I'd also check that my new key locks/unlocks the car. And also that the immobiliser red light goes out when I switch to IGN.
Then I'd try to start.
From the sound of it you have insufficient fuel pressure in the lines despite fuel being in the lines.....trouble is that it has to be at about 35 PSI to feed the injectors. This could be due to the key not killing the immobiliser.
When you got the new key did you follow the instructions from the key people exactly?
Good Luck.
did you follow the learning procedure with the new key
learning procedure with the new key?
Instructions?
it was my dads mate that done it (works for toyota)
i got the key and it wasnt programmed, so it wouldnt turn over, then when it got programmed it now turns over so i thought thats all there is to it?
and also strangely enough it wont unlock/lock the doors...

Sounds like the key isn't programmed properly if it won't open the doors - check the red immobiliser light - it should go out when you turn to ignition.
You could try the backup system - turn ignition on, wait up to an hour for the immobiliser light to go out then crank the car. This only works once then you need to wait an hour again.
If it is the key you may need to go to Holden so they can program a key from the VIN.....this costs unfortunately.
yer, where abouts is the "immobiliser light" is this the light under the cd player? or is it the green light on the steering colum?
There is no Holden dealer in my city so i had to ring the nearest Holden dealer and gave them my Vin, then they shipped the machine they use to program the key to the Toyota dealer who programmed it..
i didn't think this problem would be related to the key?, because the engine cranks over so doesn't that mean the key is doing its job?, if the immobilizer was on i thought it would prevent the engine from winding over all together?

Mr. Minit shoe repairs do key programming, take in the original and the new cut, they'll reprogram it and go through the learning procedure for you. A new VS key cut and programmed is $100
i didnt have a key, or a mr minit, but there is no issue with the key, or programming of the key, that has nothing to do with it not starting

The theft deterrent system will allow the car to crank if the correct ignition key is used, but if the BCM/PCM doesn't get the correct code from the key head it won't enable the fuel delivery system. In other words you won't get any fuel through to the injectors and the car won't start.
um but i had the key, and it wasnt programmed, and it wouldnt crank, then i got it programmed and now it cranks.... also there is fuel at the fuel rail so its gettin fuel, unless you mean the injectors wont open?

un programmed the key and it wouldnt wind over, aparently the injectors arnt getting the pulse to open..
