Default Brake Upgrade + Wheel Bearings

I'm looking for a few ideas for which to do. My front wheel bearings need to be replaced, but the quote from Holden I got was ridiculous, something like $300 each side. I figured it would be a good idea to do the VT brake upgrade whilst I'm at it aswell. An ebay seller (think its MR Spares) has the kits for a reasonable price and look to include bearings, but they are not sealed. For a similar price Holmart does the same converstion kit but doesn't show the bearings.

What I want to know is, what would be the best way to go about uprading my front bearings and brakes. Costs would be appreciated to, Thanks

    To top.

Would even like to hear of anyone who has bought the converstion kit from Mr Spares or Holmart. Is it a better option than sourcing the parts myself?

Go the VT upgrade, I got one off ebay that did not require spacers, have not dealt with the people listed, also, I thought bearings were cheap like $30 or something but I could be wrong.

The VR on runs a sealed hub unit. Very expensive compared to standard wheel bearings in the pre VR's. You can't replace the bearing on it's own, it has to be a complete hub replacement.

Yeah I know they are sealed bearings, hence why they are so expensive
Abba Fan, do you offer anything in terms of the VT brakes?

I used to, but now I do the VE spec upgrade. They come with two different sized rotors, 298 or 322. They range from $650 to $765 depending on the vehicle. On the VR they are $650 for 298mm or $695 for 322mm.

The advantage there over the VT set up is the piston size in the calipers are slightly smaller so they displace less fluid, making it unnecessary to do the master cylinder swap.

Aahk..does the VE upgrade come with hubs to suit, including the baering (if you get what I mean)? If thats the case, it would end up cheaper because on top of the VT upgrade, I would need to buy new hubs anyway, making the price close to $600..
What I really want to know is: How much, ontop of the $400 so for the VT brake upgrade, am I looking at for buying new front hubs?

There are a lot of new hubs on eBay. Price depends on whether you have ABS, five link rear suspension or IRS.
