Hey guys
About 3 weeks ago I was out the front of autobarn and when i went to leave i got in my car and it would not start, like the starter motor was not sparking. All i would hear when i turned the key was like a 'spit' sound, like a 'ter'. I left the key turned all the way and shifted the gears up and down, put it in neutral and it started. After that it was fine for a while, it started in 'P' no worries. The last two days it has happened twice and i've had to do the shifting gear up and down routine.
Is my starter motor on the way out? or is it something else?
Thanks, Shane
interesting question.. starter motor doesent really make sense in this case, although the gear shifting could be unrelated to the actual problem, ill do a little more research, see if i can get back to you on this one

mine does exact same thing. i know sometimes if you turn the key just 1 or 2 clicks and leave it a minute when you turn it right round the car wont start (maybe the imobilizer or something). i just do the same, down to reverse and back up to park. ususally does the trick, i dont think its anything serious
where the hell is the new thread tab? some one please mail me and let me know
try adjusting the t bar under, cause sometimes when car gets older the mountings get sag or broken so it affect the alingment of these bar.
nothing to do with the shifter itself, it'll be the inhibitor switch as mentioned

The contacts on the Park-neutral switch can get carboned up, just sand them clean. Either that or you're not waiting long enough for the BCM to read the key before you hit the ignition.
cheers for the help guys just happy its not only my car with the problem![]()
