    Default v6-v8 radiator

    hey guys.

my radiator in my v8 has crapped its dacks and split.

i have a spare v6 radiator. physically looking at it. it should fit without the fan shroud which could be dangerous but would get me out of trouble till i can afford another v8 one.

cheers for your help guys and girls

If it mounts properly - and I wouldn't know about that - and the hoses fit then I'd go for it. It's winter so it should keep a little cooler. I think the only difference is an extra row of tubes although I would have thought the hoses would be different diameter. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

hayden a guy at work im sure is running a v6 radiator in his v8 (vr) ute. He did a v8 conversion on it years ago and im sure he has told me on more than one occasion it still has the v6 radiator and he still has the fan shroud on.

Sorry hayden i was wrong, asked dude at work at he is running the v8 radiator, if your stuck then i say give it ago if its not going to be to hard to fit, but it will need the shroud still to suck the air through the radiator when you are sitting in traffic. It may keep it cool in this cooler weather if not then you will have o get a new one.

cheers wes. i put it in. couldnt work out a way to fit the shroud though. i have noticed in traffic the temp goes up to about half. probably not the best idea in summer. but for a month or so itll get me by.

went to newcastle yesterday. 300 kays and it went well. admittedly mostly highway kms though.
