vt autobox into a vs

Hi i am just wondering how you put a vt autobox into a vs. I have done a search and did not find much. My old box has got 317xxx and the vt box that i have got only has 154xxx so any help please.

not that hard a job mate just did my vr ute. i have a vs ecotec and a vt gearbox. They bolt straight up just make sure its a good box and converter don't use your old one. there is only two things you need to do to the box before you install it and that is at the rear of the new box it will have a bracket on the top of the housing use a grinder and cut it off the best you can as it will hit the floor. next is to mark out where the drivers side exhaust runs past the bellhousing. easiest way is to look at where it runs now and mark on the side of your old box where it comes past then transfer mark to new box and cut out section. from memory its from the last bolt hole down about 50mm and into the straight part of the housing. once there ar done install box. Use your old gear selector not the one from the vt. once box is in you will have to use the jack and hold box up where it is ment to sit and put your crossmember back in you may have to re-drill it as i had to. once thats done and box is now sitting in there the only othe thing to do is to put your exhaust back on. Not a fun job. One of the bolt on the drivers side is a prick to get to now to get tight but you'll get. now all you have to do is to connect the exhaust bracket at rear of gearbox and install tailshaft. like i said its not hard but if you don't have the right tools it will be hard.
