is there a good recommended coolant to use on a 5litre efi there is so many to choose from my car has 139000kms i went to one place they said use this brand the other place said use this one but was a totally different brand very confusing, so i thought i would ask people that actually know holdens and would have sum good knowledge for me thanks. good

Coolants coolant, Makesure you don't use water, makesure it isn't red either.

I pay I think $8 for 5litres of coolant for half decent stuff. Pre-Mix. Use 2bottles in a fulllll FLUSH pretty much..

You can get pre-mix or concentrate. Just mix the concentrate properly.

there isnt a heap of difference if the car is fairly standard, in most places in Aus, you wont have freezing probs and anti boil can be useful in older engines too. Rust inhibitors is probably the main use, plain water caused corrosion over time, I wouldn't lose sleep wondering if you bought the right one or not.

I use Repco in the VY. It's the one that states "suitable for v-series Commodores." Mines an Ecotec, I wouldn't use cheap shit, same as I wouldn't use cheap oil, brake fluid, etc. The Repco one

just dont mix brands of coolant. its not good.
