    Question Auto sump pan stuck on help please

    Hi all ive pulled out my VR 4HDD auto and cant get sump pan off its like its glued on. Is there any special way of getting this off i just dont want to wreck the pan or the bottom of the box. Can any one help as i need to service fix seals and put back in thanx.

    maybe just the gasket sticking to it give it a knock with a hammer

    you sure you undid all the bolts LOL normally the weight of the oil and the pan it will just drop down by itself

    All the bolts are out its fully stuck on tried hammer, tried a screw driver i just dont want to be to rough that it wrecks the pan or the box

    the pan itself is pretty solid shes thick stainless.there should be a TAB on the side of the pan if i remember right to use to lever it off i only just did one a few weekends ago but i forget LOL

    Theres two tabs at the bell housing end how and what do i lever it off with

    whatever you can screwdriver etc.or just put a screw driver on the lip of the pan and knock it down off the trans you will have a new gasket in the kit so no need to worry about the gasket hammer and screwdriver is your freind ive never seen one stuck like yours before they normally drop before you get the last bolt even very loose

    Ive never heared of it being this hard to get off. im gonna give it a try in the morning its like they glued it on. will it damage the bottom of the box if i jam a srcrewdriver in or will it be fine.

    you dont want any big garks in the alloy but try to get between the pan and the gasket not the gasket and trans

    and try to avoid turning it upside down all the shit in the pan will go into everywhere inside the box
