    Default Battery indicator light

hey all, my battery warning indicator light popped up randomly yesterday and has not gone away since. i check the battery yesterday with a muiltimeter and it read 12.4 volts and while running 14.6 volts. now its reading 11volts whilts the car is running. i think its the alternator but the battery is only rated at 460 CCA and i didnt even know until yesterday. i thought they were meant to be about 490CCA. any help as to what it could be would be greatly appreciated.

    TIA

Did you do a search? Has been asked about 10 times this month..
I'd put money on it being the regulator (at the back of the alternator, its a little black thing). I did mine last wekk $50, and hey presto.

Its soo easy to check without goin out n buyin one tho, just gotta make sure the brushes are of descent length. 2 screws n a plug. Its usually the problem tho.

to save you asking, "desent length" = approx. 4mm

but if its anywhere near that (and its not your problem) you'd still wanna change it anyway
