Default How to tune stroked VS111

    G'day,
Toying with the idea of going out to 355ci.

I can do the spanner stuff, but I dunno how to tune it after.

Is it a new chip, or can the computer be tuned? Who can do it?

If anyone's done it, did you fit different injectors too?

    Thanks!

get one of the "at home" tuners here to make you a chip up. Search memcal and you might find some stuff of interest to read.

off-the-shelf chips that come in a 'package' are rubbish...

if your gonna do it, do it properly and get your car dyno tuned

foamy does chips for $50 or somthing. They are fine i have been running one in my car for ages now and its a nice tune. There are others here doin them now aswell and theres some here re-selling foam's tunes too, im sure they'll pop their head in here.

I am by no means a tuner of any kind, but wouldn't a 355 cubic inch engine be best off being dyno tuned?

exactly. why spend 10k on a motor and get a home made tune?

Actually what I wanted to know is HOW to tune them.

Don't care if it goes to a dyno, if there are chips or if I have to rip the Delco stuff out and replace with aftermarket computer.

So if anyone's done it and they have their 355 + engine running A/C Delco computer gear still (and it runs properly) I'd love to hear about it.

I had the original 355 engine for my Calais built and the memcal tuned by COME Engines. Other than the idle speed being too high initially (quickly fixed) I never had any problems with the tune using the standard Delco PCM. You don't need to go aftermarket.

Cool. Anyone else, or just COME?

And no increase in injector sizes needed?

you may be better posting these questions in the V8 development section. You will get better responses. This is a more general section on how to replace wiper blades, my fuel cap is stuck ect...

slap a 215 gts memcal in it will be a good starting point surely then tweak to suit whatever cam you are running the delco is highly tunable for a minimal outlay on gear
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
