how to put a vs motor into a vr

hey guy dos anyone no what is needed to put a vs ecotec motor in my vr series2 sedan and also if anyone has a wiring diagram for a vs to thanks

Are you thinking of doing it just for the hell of it or is your engine dead. I think you know where i'm going with this, it wouldn't be worth of a job. VS's are not that expensive nowadays.

But back to the point, if you have a donner car it makes life easier as you can take everything from it that you need. EDIT: and someone might want to move this post.

hey my motor is fulley dead yet but is dieing and also coz i wanna put the getrag box in my car so that i dont have alot of shit to make up for the convesion and nah dont have donna car but lookin at buyin one thanks

What's a getrag box? I would go to the wreckers and ask them if they have any complete vs's with engine untouched. You should be able to get everything from there. Hell i even have a complete VS with an engine, you want it i can sell it to you for $500.

The engine was running and then i haven't touched the car since some one ran in to the back of it. Send me a PM if you are in NSW.

ahhh no, getrag is the maker of the transmission.

Pre VS the 5spd was made by Bog Warner and called the T5 (BW sp?)..then they moved onto the getrag boxes.

What you listed is an add on..

Hozy did a guide on doing this a while back.. there is a thread somewhere.. do a search.

i did it to my old VP as well. off memory you'll need the engine, VS engine mounts, then either the VS gearbox or a custom flywheel, custom y-pipe from extractors to exhaust, either the VS computer or a custom tune on your VR memcal, you'll need to screw around with sensors. overall, a bit of a waste, you could do a V8 transplant for the same cost

Wouldnt it be better to put a Alloytec in your VR.
Just buy a written off VZ and do a complete transplant with computer and all.
