Quick diff question

hi there i have a VS commodore with live axle diff
i have just bought a reconditioned vr v8 irs lsd diff head (new crown & pinion, spiders, clutch packs etc)
i know that the centers are interchangable
but are the crown wheel and pinion also interchangable between irs and the live axle diffs?

The crown wheel and pinion are the centres.....but no, they are not interchangeable.

So does that mean he bought a diff but cant use the internals??
