i need a new trans for my vs berlina and was wondering if one out of a vt would fit and work properly?
what are the different codes for the various autos around this time?
thanks
Not from the research I've done they won't fit vs and vr are the same just use a diffrent speed sensor you just change the extention housing and she all good sorry for the bad news
This has been done by a couple of people on here and apparently it can be done. They are the same transmission apart from a couple of small changes. From memory ephect did it.
I was going to do it, found a place that was very helpful and in the know and more to the point willing to have a crack. i would have had to mod the exhuast pipes due to the VT's full bellhousing and a few other things i cant remember.
Yes it can be done, its cheaper and easier to sell the VT auto and find a VS one. More reliable to just get your current auto reco'd and have it last longer.
no a vt box will not just fit in u have to bend the driver exaust and move a bracket or to plus u have to srtech the wire alittle for it to fit in cos on the vt box the sensor is about 3 cm pushed back ... i know cos i tryed to fit a vt box into my car and well no luck :S
its just alot of stuffing around and what not but if u were able to fit it in she should go abit harder lol

yes a vt box will fit into a vs i have just done itWhat you need to do is the mounts at the back of the box up top need to be cut off or they will hit the floor and where the drivers side exhaust runs past the box needs to be cut away abit to just mark where it runs on your old box be for you pull it out and transfer markings over and then the vt box will go in. But you also need to use the vt torque converter as well.
