Default VS cruise control switch (where to get one)

Hi all, my cruise control is not engaging, (VS Calais), i have a feeling its the switch on the brake pedal, just want to know where it is i can get one and approximate cost? Do places like Repco, Bursons etc etc sell them? I have replacecd the indicator/cruise stalk so i know its not that. Thanks in advance.

have you actually tried adjusting the switch first?

this is for vn/vp, don't see why the switch would be different for vs though. maybe it is - but you can at least give this a shot for now until someone else replies.

Have you tried checking your brake lights? Criuse control will not engage if your brake bulbs are blown.

Check across the contacts of the extra switch with the grey connector at rest with a meter if it shows a circuit its working fine....ive never seen one not working as they are pretty basic. The cruise circuit actually uses both brake switches to ensure it always releases the cruise control when you jump on the pedal. As a test you could short the extra switch out with a bit of wire and go for a drive and see if it works and on the off and near impossible chance be ready to switch it off at the stalk switch if both switches dont turn cruise off when you jump on the pedal.
Most likely cause of cruise not working is a broken wire in the stalk if the brake switch is adjust properly.

I have seen them floating about on ebay, along with full kits. might be worth a look if your not in a hurry for one.

When I tried to buy one the only place that could supply one was the local Holden mob - they said they had to order it in and would cost $59 - ended up going to a wrecker and got one for $10. The bloke at the wrecker said they rarely sold one as they never seem to fail. Mine was needed as I was retrofitting genuine cruise.

looking at the panel for the relays / fuses under the dash, there isnt a relay for the cruise, and doesnt look like any wires have been chopped, so looks all factory, does this seem ok? Seems a little strange to me......
