Hi All , i think this may belong in this part of the forum
i have a Manual VS SS that has done around 180,000kms .
current mods are
. twin 2 1/2 exhaust
. Alan Gibbs kalmaker computer chip
. 3.9 diff gears
i was just wondering how it would cope with a twin turbo kit running around 6 -7 psi ?
any input would be great
cheers
Jay.

PRETTY FRICKEN SWEEETTT lol
but are you planning on just slapping turbos on??
if so i probs wouldnt alot of things do need to be considered i dont want to kill your idea i just dont want you to kill your motor
basic rundown if you need more detail ask away im happy to have an input
things like:
bigger injectors
cam choice (not always the biggest)
head stud kit as i do believe they dont like staying down under a bit of pressure (not sure just heard alot)
what compression ratio will acheive the best results if more boost will come in later
retune
etc etc etc.....
the main reason i want to do this is that the SS is just to slow , ive just down graded from a BA GT - P that made 310rwkw.(long story )
i did assume that bigger injectors would be a must , do you what size the stock ones are ?
i didnt realize that i had to upgrade the cam.
head stud kit sounds like a safe move
standard compression ratio should be ok i think , maybe not ?? ( your thoughts )
and yes a retune for sure

You dont need to upgrade the cam, thou it would be better if you did
Standard compression would be fine for a low boost install. if you want to run much more than 7-10psi you will need to lower to compression.
depends on how far he wants to take it im fairly interested if you go through with this??
have you thought about turbo size??? whos making the manifolds???
thats interesting what compression does it have standard???
Pretty sure it has 8.4:1?
There is a bloke selling a VN SS for 13,000 and it comes with a twin turbo kit so i was going to offer him 2K for the kit , comes with 2 turbos (T04 I think - not real big) 2 manifolds.
i don't want to make huge power or anything , just a bit more get up and go.. it will still be a daily driver so it also has to be reliable.
so if the motor can handle 7-10psi than i might call the guy and see what he says .
or the other option is to though a cam in and change the intake manifold.

didnt know how low it was, i am surprised how low it is, the CR isnt all thats required for a boosted motor, I dont see any change out of 10k to get a motor built to take good boost. whilst this price might seem dear its still cheap and will take it all day long every day.
Add another $Xk for your turbos mainfolds exhuast cooler, tune, box to handle it, diff axles the list never ends.
yeah sounds awsome dude definatly give it a go if its only low boost im just really interested in something for the street not full blown off it head fully mad cost more than a house deal
Cometec headgaskets + the right tune, on a 2bolt main 304, can take 14psi day in day out on the right setup.
