as you can guess,im trying to find out if Caprice have memory, say a button that puts the seat to how you like it if some else has been driving.

Yes.
im pretty sure there is 3 settings too.
dont worry, il start a ride thread soon.
Thanks mate,I was hoping it has at least 2 but maybe 3,thats a bonus. Not much sh!ts me more than trying to find my perfect seating position after my better half has been driving my car,im glad that'll soon stop

The VS Caprice sure does. I can't remember if its 2 or 3. I'll go have a look![]()
It should also have key memory, whereby you have 2 keys , one for you and one for your wife and when you use your key after your wife has been driving it will set the seat, side mirrors, radio settings and climate control back to the settings that you had and vice versa when your wife inserts her key.

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
The mirrors, radio etc stuff wasn't in the VS. That didn't come out until the W? series I think. The keys don't change the seats etc when you open the door, there are buttons in the drivers door trim in the VS more's the pity.
Just been out to the car, 3 presets on the seat

Memory buttons in the door trim, never would have guessed that.Is it true the seats had heaters in them too or was that for later models again

So if i buy caprice seats for my VS Stato do i have to put in a new computer, remote/keys to use the memory in the seats and what about wiring looms for them?

Yes I know, if you get anymore manly you are in danger of making yourself pregnant!
S1 certainly doesn't have seat warmers. In fact I wouldn't be sure any Caprice does. More of a european thing. Correct me if I'm wrong Caprice owners![]()
It is my understanding that all the memory for the seats is onboard the car. You are just shifting the electric seat to a position, setting that in the memory and thats that. I would assume there is a control module of some sort but it has nothing to do with the keys.

so if you buy them it should come with a loom and control module and just bolt/wire up?

there should be a loom yes which most people wire the seats straight the battary,im hoping my car has the plugs for it
WTB:VR/S HSV 250km/h speedo cluster
The drivers seat has as extra module and wiring for the memory side of things
The wiring loom is integrated in to the main body harness, so you would need to strip it out and then work something out for where it normally plugs in to.
Why would your berlina have factory wiring for a caprice only option?
Perhaps holden was lazy, same as i (and most VS's) have the factory foglight wiring up front yet only SS,series 2 calais and statesman had foglights, but the fuse area under the steering has a place for a electric seat fuse, with wires present so i'd say the plugs for the seats are hidden away
