Default calais seats into an exec?

    hi there.

i realise what im about to ask has probably been asked and answered a million times over but with not alot of time i cant really sit here sifting through forums for answers so your replys are greatly appreciated

    1. i have a vs exec. and have come accross a bargain set of vs calais seats. fearing they may be more trouble than there worth though. i believe the calais seats are electric and obviously exec. seats arnt. as calais seats cant be repositioned with the simple turn of back adjuster what is involved in getting these seats to function?

i cant imagine it being too hard to work out if you are lectrical minded or have a mate who is. Maybe check the wiring diagrams in the back of a workshop manual.

I didn't know VS Calais seats were electric. Sure their not Statesman or Caprice?

The seats will bolt straight in. There should also be a place in the fuse box under the steering wheel for the fuse that connects to the power seats. As for loom though, I'm not sure what may be required.

Calais seats were not electric, so they will bolt in to the factory holes.

    Only Caprices were electric.

Fitting Caprice seats involves drilling holes in the floorpan as they used different mounting points.

I missed that bit, pays to read more carefully. Anyway, Calais seats will bolt in.

I thought electric Calais seats sounded weird.
