too loud exhaust

Hi all.

I have a 5litre and it didnt pass rego only becuase of the exhaust apparently it was too loud so insted of buying a new exhaust system does anyone have suggestions on how I can quiten it down for rego. Even if its just stuffing steel wool up it or a noise reducer agent etc anyone got ideas?

I have a mate that has a Suub that is all kinds of crazy,
he runs no cats in it (naughty i know) but as a means of keeping it quiet when its rego time etc etc,
He made a baffle plate. Simply a gasket sized/shaped piece of steel with a couple of holes drilled through it. Effectively strangles exhaust, so you will lose a lot from it, but should quiten it down a bit. Wouldnt roll with it for any longer than required but.
Undectable - looks like an exhaust gasket.
ALthough this works on a 2L - 5L may not work as well.
Worth a try though.
Anyone know if this is "dangerous" for the car though? - i would check first.

I know this is a little different but when i did my Motorbike Course on my Honda XR250 which i have to admit is quite loud i was told by a friend that it would be too loud so before i went i unbolted the exhaust cap and stuffed as much steel wool in there i could and it worked. Definitely worth a try

just go to a good exhaust shop and have them add/change a muffler or resonator.
