hey guys,

got a few questions

Question one: my vr calais auto plays up when the car is cold, it wont select second when the car is in drive it will just rev out in first and reverse loses power and revs really high, when you manually put the car in second it works fine and when the car is warmed up and you put it in drive its also fine.

Question two: also the motor is making a loud rattling sound at idle when driving around its fine, i took the belt off and the noise stopped a mechanic friend looked at it and said it was the idler pulley so replaced that and the noise went away for abit but came back shortly after.

anyone know what the problems are?

Question 1 possibly the servo or something is sticking in the box ,as for the rattle it migh be your cats ,mine do the same thing on startup

Q1 sounds like trans is slipping. I had the same problem.. Got it checked out and my trans was 2lt short of fluid... Topped it up and now it runs fine.
