bonnet wont open

hey guys, i just picked up an airbrushed vs bonnet, and put it on my vr, it seems that the bonnet has jammed, and will not open via the lever in the drivers side, i hade tried having a friend push down on it etc while i pull lever, still no go.

it seems like the pin is stuck, as i have reached in and pulled the underbonnet lock release and still stuck...

does anyone have ANY suggestions of how to get it opened? i have tried afew panalbeaters and mechanics....and no luck.....

If the pin has gone past the latch and jammed then I'd suggest you get under the front of the car and try and use a very long and large flat screwdriver to unscrew the pin. It will probably need to be at least 400mm long and the blade needs to be about 12mm across and in good condition as you need to exert a lot of pressure on the head of the pin as it's locked with a locknut.

get someone to pull the lever while you push down on the bonnet. or the above

if doing the above, make sure you don't damage the air con condenser or air con line that runs along the front of the car. try not to touch it at all while trying to lever the pin, coz chances are its corroded and will snap with the slightest touch. happened to me when a mechanic tried to open my bonnet like the above mentioned.

okays guys, i wound up taking it to a panel beaters, they suggested cutting my airbrushed bonnet (**** that)! the bonnet was too tight even with three people pulling down, and using a clamp on the bonnet wire, i would up putting car on ramps, removing thermostat fan and then using a long screwdriver to losen the pin, worked like a charm, thanks for the input fellas.
