Vs statesman front window chrome trim

I got my VS Statesman's front window replaced (It was a little over due as it was the original) and the window guy told me that he had to put the standard rubber window mould in, which i wasn't to happy about so i asked if he could just go get the chrome one and he said he could if i wanted to pay $250 just for the mould without the window itself.
So being the cheap skate that i am i called GHM direct cause i've got a mate that works for them and i could get a discount and they told me the real price it was $320 WHAT DA F$#K!!!!!!
I can't believe that these con artists can charge such a exorbitant amount for a piece of rubber and a piece of chrome compared to one with out rubber that they give away, i love my car and want to keep it original but there is a limit and GMH have pushed it. Just makes me wonder what some of the other hard to find parts are going to cost myself and other Stato lovers in ten years time!

yea its increadible the price of them, u can get cheaper windor moulds from ebay, a roll of it to place along it, if you get the rights stuff it comes up pritty good, but i have heard a few that got the wrong type and it looked rough/cheap. i dont know which one is right/wrong
