Need some opinions please on what types you guys have and brands you trust.

anything that makes noise except the $100 ones that false alarm all the time is still only a deterrent. If the module is hidden then any alarm with an immobilisers is good, it just depends on the features you want, A good car thief can disable any brand. The worst thing you can do is put those little stickers showing what brand you have, that gives them a head start as each alarm has similar wiring but not exactly the same. Spend the money on putting in a secondary kill switch in a good spot, some people even have two extras, you can switch them on if you are in a higher risk area or out somewhere. Hook one up to the starter, one to the coil or whatever else will disable the car.

Contact your insurance company and see what discounts they give, you might be required to have a 3 point immobiliser with black wiring. They might also be able to suggest brands and models that they approve.

try the ones with the remote LCD's. they operate on kinda like a celluar band and the remote will beep as well when ur car alarm is going off. even shows on the LCD if a door has been opened or just something has bumped it setting the alarm off.
