Manual&Auto Starter Motor Whats the difference?

so is the Delco Remy & The Bosch in that thread the only 2 types available? im using a Delco Remy in my VR T5 and its not engaging properly im trying to work out if im using the wrong one or if that starter is just rooted

As far as Im aware all the delcos are the same. Im using one from a factory manual VN on a flexplate-adapting flywheel and it works fine. The bosch will not fit the manual bellhousing, I tried out of curiosity lol.

any starter motor (auto or manual) from a VN or VP should work with a t5 box... cause they are all Delco's
